Day 1: Make a Christmas Countdown Chain

The countdown to Christmas has begun! One of the most exciting parts of December is watching the days tick down until the big day. Today, we’re going to make a simple and colourful Christmas Countdown Paper Chain.

✂️ What You’ll Need:

  • Red and green paper (or any Christmassy colours)

  • Scissors (child-safe if little ones are cutting)

  • Glue stick or tape

  • A felt-tip pen or crayon

📝 Instructions:

1. Cut the coloured paper into strips about 2–3cm wide.

2. On each strip, write the numbers 1 to 24 (or leave them blank if you’d prefer just colours).

3. Take the first strip, form it into a loop, and secure it with glue or tape.

4. Thread the next strip through the loop to make a chain, and continue until you have 24 links.

5. Hang your chain somewhere special – on the wall, the door, or even the Christmas tree.

6. Every day, tear off one link until Christmas Day finally arrives!

🌟 Extra Idea:

Write a fun activity or kind deed on the inside of each strip before linking them together. Each day, when you tear a strip, you’ll have a festive surprise waiting!

Tomorrow you’ll need:

Paper with a Christmas tree outline, colouring pencils or felt-tips, stickers, sequins, glitter, glue stick.
