Day 12: Festive Maths Hunt

Learning can be festive too! Today’s activity combines Christmas fun with number practice. Children will hunt for hidden sums around the house.

✂️ What You’ll Need:

  • Paper stars (cut out and decorated)

  • Crayons or pens to write sums (simple addition or subtraction)

  • Stickers or small treats as rewards

📝 Instructions:

1. Write a simple maths question on each paper star (e.g. 4 + 3, 10 – 2).

2. Hide the stars around the house.

3. Give children a clipboard or paper to record their answers.

4. Once they find all the stars, check the answers together.

5. Give a small reward – a sticker or a cheer – for completing the hunt.

🌟 Extra Idea:

Add Christmas-themed word problems like “Santa has 5 presents and gives away 2. How many are left?”

Tomorrow you’ll need:

White card or paper circles, crayons, glue, paper hats and scarves for decorating.
