Day 3: Bake Festive Biscuits
There’s nothing quite like the smell of biscuits baking at Christmas time! Today’s activity is a tasty one – baking simple festive biscuits. Children can help with mixing, rolling, and decorating, making this a fun (and delicious) way to get into the Christmas spirit.
✂️ What You’ll Need:
Plain biscuit recipe (or ready-made dough from the shop)
Star or Christmas tree biscuit cutters
Rolling pin
Baking tray and parchment paper
Sprinkles, icing pens, or coloured sugar for decoration
📝 Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven according to the recipe or packet instructions.
2. Mix up the biscuit dough, or roll out your ready-made dough until it’s about ½ cm thick.
3. Use cutters to make star, tree, or gingerbread shapes. Place them carefully onto a lined baking tray.
4. Bake in the oven until golden brown, then allow them to cool completely.
5. Once cool, decorate with icing pens, sprinkles, or even tiny sweets.
🌟 Extra Idea:
Punch a small hole at the top of each biscuit before baking. Once baked and decorated, thread a ribbon through to make edible tree decorations!
Tomorrow you’ll need:
Paper or Christmas-themed writing paper, envelopes, pens/crayons, stickers, a large envelope addressed to Father Christmas.
